Southville is an inner city ward of Bristol, situated on the south bank of the River Avon, within walking distance to the neighbouring Clifton and city centre areas.


It has good public transport connections with regular bus services and Temple Meads train station being a 20 minute walk to the east.


Southville has a real sense of community and is home to a variety of independent stores, offering a range of locally produced products.


In addition there is a range of education options with both primary and secondary schools located very near by and a wider range of establishments located within the city.



Situated within Southville is the Southville Primary School. Also nearby are Ashton gate Primary School and Ashton Park Secondary School

Southville has its own local GP with several additional surgeries located in the neighbouring Bedminster area.

Southville has a strong, active voluntary sector with a real sense of community. The area is home to the very popular Tobacco factory, an establishment that houses a theatre, restaurant and bar.There are also numerous independently owned stores that offer a variety of locally produced goods.

Being so central to Bristol, the area benefits from Long Ashton Golf Club, Long Ashton Cricket Club and Woodspring Golf & Country Club. Just to the south-west is Ashton Gate football stadium, home to the Bristol City football team.


A short drive out of the city and you will find yourself in the beautiful surroundings of Ashton Court, home of Bristol's annual Balloon Fiesta.

The Mall, Cribbs Causeway, offers over 170 major retail stores. The Cabot Circus shopping centre in the center of Bristol now provides an unrivalled array of shops, bars and cafes.

Car: The M4 / M5 are 25 minutes away providing easy access to Cardiff, Swindon, London and beyond.

Buses: Wessex Connect, South Glos and Bristol all run regular bus services through the area.

Trains: The nearest train stations are Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway. Both offer excellent links to London, Birmingham, Cardiff and Devon and Cornwall.

Airports: Bristol Airport is less than half an hour away and provides links to most of Europe.
